Director of Kuljetusrinki Jouni Lilja: "When we started building a new facility, we purchased a Tamtron truck scale that we wanted to connect to cloud software. Our previous software was really old and hard to develop. We are very satisfied with the overall mScales solution that it offered to us during the project. mScales has largely fulfilled our wishes.
The old system was labor-intensive and required one person's time every day. The amount of manual work involved in weighing was high. In the reform, we set out to find the benefits of reducing the amount of manpower needed for weighing so that weighing no longer had to be done by human resources. "
The mScales weighing service has solved previous challenges and reduced manual work by automating weighing processes. The weighing process has been shifted from the weighing office to the drivers, as the weighing codes allows for easy and quick self-service weighing. mScales also signs off on behalf of the drivers at the end of the job, making the tasks of the vehicle driver and the weighing operator much easier. All parties benefit, and the weighing process becomes more efficient and faster, and the data is always up-to-date.
With the weighing data automatically transferred to the cloud immediately after the load is weighed, we also get faster and easier invoice preparation data for our customers. "Now our turnaround time is more efficient", adds operator and invoicing manager Piia Mäkitalo.
With mScales, weighing can now also be done remotely, whereas the previous weighing system was constantly tied to a specific location. "We have also done weighing from outside the facility, which gives us more flexibility in our work," adds Jouni Lilja.
Kuljetusrinki also has the mScales Warehouse Management add-on module, which now enables accurate tracking of stock balances. Previously, manual calculation and reconciliation of the inventory status was done and human errors could occur. Now, automatic monitoring of stock balances has made it easier to keep track of individual storage locations, for example by seeing how much material has arrived and left and how much cardboard, for example, is in stock. This is a significant difference from the past.
Jouni Lilja adds, "In general, it is very important that we know how much material is stored on our site, so tracking balances is very important in a broader context as well."
Integration into Kuljetusrinki's other business systems was initially a bit of a challenge, as it is in general. However, as a result of good cooperation, the integrations went very smoothly compared to the previous software implementation. The on-site collaboration with the integrator was very important to clarify the common understanding and solve Kuljetusrinki's needs in the industry context.
Jouni Lilja says that the mScales team has been a very good and quick partner with the customer's development ideas and problems. Help has always been prompt and everything has been handled well. Drivers have found using mScales to be an easy and reliable service. The feedback from Kuljetusrinki's customers has also been good, as the weighing service is now quickly self-service. The electronic data transfer has made operations faster and easier, as there is no longer any need for paper slips or, in particular, for searching for lost weighing slips.
mScales has brought much-needed ease to everyday life, as many work steps have been eliminated, resulting in cost-efficiency for the business.
